FaceMyDoc
21st-Century Healthcare
In the convoluted scenario brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, FaceMyDoc connects physicians and patients with an innovative and accessible platform.
Mission
FaceMyDoc connects patients with specialized health professionals throughout America, with filters on city and state, medical specialty and medical insurance possibilities.
Impact
The platform led the path of video-call medical appointments, starting to connect physicians and patients through tech before COVID-19.
Services
We partnered up with FaceMyDoc to upgrade its services in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, boosting friendly, accessible experiences for all users.
Goal
FaceMyDoc offers virtual communications between healthcare providers and patients, highlighting both data safety and accessibility for both parties.
Story
The platform rose to combine a wide array of services offered by healthcare institutions, seamlessly combining flexibility and income earnings.
It also provides an advanced environment for doctors, nurses and other health professionals with on-demand services, virtual extensions and P2P technology.
Its Practice-In-A-Box solution also allows professionals to create Virtual Clinics to cater to the specific needs of their patients.
As a venture, FaceMyDoc combines the key strengths of both an Independent Physician Association and a Managed Service Organization in a single platform.
Its platform provides tele-health software with integrated lead and content marketing tools for providers to grow user bases and develop personal brands over social media.
As a result, FaceMyDoc became the fastest-growing tele-health provider network in the U.S.
Challenges
While the venture started offering virtual services far before COVID-19, the pandemic led to a logical change in development and strategy to keep up while maintaining quality.
With an increasing user base, FaceMyDoc had the challenge of expanding its offerings to attend to a higher number of scenarios, like consulting, diagnosis and follow-ups.
This mindset also needed to include location filters to maximize the possibilities different combinations of providers and insurance were able to provide.
In structural terms, there was also the challenge of building admin roles for FaceMyDoc’s teams to guarantee maintainability on a business level.
Yet, before diving into the strategy and development stages, there was a need to fix any technical issues for seamless management and compliance with data confidentiality.
Strategy
As we focused on building a friendly and understandable platform for all audiences, a key aspect of our strategic approach to FaceMyDoc’s project was usability.
This approach included delivering intuitive interfaces and experiences for all its features, from video calls to medical history, while also protecting both parties' confidential data.
Considering the amount of information the platform handles, it was also key to develop a solid Information Architecture, especially considering it handles medical records and delicate information.
Technology
We blended React.js and Node.js combined with Next.js to deliver top-tier outcomes with faster development processes.
Since the platform needed to work clockwise, we wisely chose integrations that work well together, combining TokBox for video calls, Atlantic’s HIPPA-compliant to handle electronically protected health information and Cogsworth’s scheduling system.
Not only does this stack guarantee transparent arrangements— but it also enforces secure and confidential protocols to protect identities and medical procedures.
