Story
The APX Platform was founded in 2021 as the result of renowned industry consultant Terri Rose’s over 30 years of experience in the aesthetic industry.
The suite offers on-demand solutions that go from training to analytical calculators that translate raw data into actionable KPIs and insights.
Since it was founded in the context of COVID, some key reasons that led to its development were staff turnover and the lack of training of newly hired staff.
It is in this context that the APX Platform focused from the start on offering sales and financial training to achieve profitability and operational efficiency.
With a data-driven approach, APX has three main areas: Training, Analytics and Community.
The Training area offers on-demand business courses focused on productivity and profitability, the Analytics edge provides financial calculators and intelligent dashboards, and its Community brings professionals together through mentoring and coaching.
Challenges
The first challenge our team faced was to understand the core of APX’s business deeply before delving into any hypothetical solution.
However, we also needed to develop a robust yet intuitive structure to meet both the platform features and the final users' wants and needs.
Technology
We built a strong platform combining React for the front- and NestJS on the back end and further hosted it on AWS with PostgreSQL as our Database Management Software.
For team members’ training, we relied on the Coassemble integration, as its Corporate eLearning provides a comfortable environment for education-based interactions.
Likewise, we embedded both analytics and business intelligence (BI) into APX’s operations with Boldbi and added Caspio for business applications.
This carefully chosen stack and level of customization allowed us to create a unique solution for APX.
